Under privileged, unfortunate, out of focus and more, define the architecture of NCVI and its owners. The project NCVI , Which they gave a group of villager, who possessed next to nothing , got a platform to sustain with pride and dignity. Over the period of time, the NCVI founded platform wished for a permanent address. Atelier Robin Architects (ARA) came to fulfil that wish. With the help and guidance of the member of NCVI, ARA set up an architecture which paved the way out for day to day living.
CARE, a non-profit organization put forwarded the initial money and the land, without which none of these would have been possible. The idea of the project was to grow indigo plants on the edge of paddy field and produce good quality indigo for dying. So, the project was kept simple and Contextual. For this project the foremost concern was being local. In keeping with the material aesthetics and ecology of the Goalpara village local bamboo and brick was used for construction. A hollow raised plinth was designed to avoid loot by digging trench.
